In 1910 Surendranath Sarkar went to Kothar, in Orissa, to receive initiation from Holy Mother. After the ceremony, he said to her: “Mother, the devotees call you Kali, Adyashakti, and Bhagavati. It is mentioned in the Gita that the sages Asita, Devala, Vyasa, and others considered Krishna to be Narayana Himself. Krishna himself confirmed this to Arjuna. The word ‘himself’ strengthened the statement. I believe whatever I have heard about you. Yet, if you substantiate those statements about yourself, then I will be free from doubt. I want to hear from you directly whether this is true or not.”
Holy Mother replied: “Yes, it is true.”
