Rasiklal was a scavenger working at Dakshineshwar. He neither had an opportunity to listen to Sri Ramakrishna’s talk nor had a chance to associate with him closely. He took upon himself to clean the path that Sri Ramakrishna used to walk and then from a hiding pay respects with devotion. One day Sri Ramakrishna called Rasiklal to come nearby and asked him, ‘What do you want?’ Rasiklal approached Sri Ramakrishna with devotion, immediately fell at His lotus feet, and with tears in eyes said, ‘O Lord, You should show me the way during my last moments.’ Sri Ramakrishna said, ‘Let it be so.’ Several years after Master’ s Mahasamadhi, Rasiklal saw Sri Ramakrisha before him during his last moments. All those who had gathered there saw his beaming face and he chanting ‘Sri Ramakrishna’ passed away.
