Youngest brother of Holy Mother, father of a posthumous daughter, Radharani (Radhu). Studied at Campbell Medical College under the guidance of Swami Saradananda. Immediately after completing his medical examinations, died of cholera on 2.8.1899 at Chore Bagan in Calcutta. Devoted to the Holy Mother, on his death bed entrusted her with the care of his family. Radharani became the centre of Holy Mother’s temporal interests after the Master’s demise, the Master too having indicated to her in a vision that she should accept the helpless little girl whose mother had lost mental balance, as the motivation for holding on to worldly life. The mother and the daughter, in particular, were personally cared for by Holy Mother all her life, living with her and travelling with her. In later life Holy Mother was heard to bless her little nephews that they should remain ignorant but live long, explaining to those who protested that she did not want repetition of an untimely death after completing studies.
Narendranath, pleased after having met Abhaycharan, had commented, “I did not know that Mother had such a brother too!”
